Waterville, Maine – The Colby College Men's Basketball team cruised to a home win in the final game of the Colby Classic against the New England College Pilgrims by a score of 103-67.

Colby came out on fire with a pair of 3 point buckets from Wallace Tucker (photo insert) and Sam Jefferson. The Mules would continue to build on their hot shooting and go up on the Pilgrims 25-9 with 12:23 to go in the first half. New England College wouldn't go away quietly as they tried to claw their way back into the contest with help from Izaiah Winston-Brooks and Stephen Fama, each contribution 7 points in the first half. Just as the Pilgrims seemed to have momentum, the Mules' Alex Dorion (headline photo) put a stop to the charge with a three point field goal to put the Mules up 45-25 with less than five minutes to go in the half. Colby finished out the first 20 with a layup from Tucker to give Colby a 52-30 lead going into halftime. Colby was 55.6% shooting behind the arc and 53.8% from the field in the first half.

The Mules continued to pour it on after halftime when Noah Tyson hit a three with 18:59 to go. The threes kept coming for Colby as Tucker made one with 14:22 left to put Colby up 68-41. An Alex Dorion three point bucket with 8:46 left put the game out of reach for the Pilgrims giving the Mules a 41 point lead. Colby continued to score at will all the way to the final buzzer, leading to a final score of 103-67.

Tucker was the high scorer for the Mules, dropping 28 points. He went 6-9 from three point land and 10-16 from the field. Jefferson added 13 and Dorion pitched in 14 points off the bench, going 4-7 from behind the arc.  Matt Hanna did his part ending with 12 points.
