Waterville, Maine - The Colby Men's Soccer team kicked off the season in style with a non-conference win over our Waterville neighbors from Thomas College, 3-0. The match was originally slated to begin at 4:00pm but was delayed due to impending thunderstorms.
Sophomore Ethan Fabricant scored the Mules' first goal of the season on an unassisted shot in the bottom left of the box twenty-two minutes into the action. While the delay in start time helped the Mules avoid the thunder and lightning, the rain came on thick as Paul Hawkins scored from 20 yards out at the 38 minute mark. The junior midfielder was assisted on the play by fellow midfielder Colin Sullivan '22.
The final goal of the contest came on a nifty shake and pass play from Cam Walker '22 to first year Sam Wilson. The West Chester, Pennsylvania native notched his first collegiate goal only ten minutes into the second half.
The Mules play next this coming Saturday at 1:30 PM on the Colby Soccer Field, hosting the Camels from Conn College.
