Waichler takes 18th for women's Nordic team at Sleepy Hollow

HUNTINGTON, Vt. -- Colby College first-year Claire Waichler placed 18th for the women and Zane Fields took 25th for the men in Nordic skiing at the Sleepy Hollow Ski Center on Saturday.

Waichler had a time of 14 minutes, 15.29 seconds in the classical race over the 5-kilometer course. Meg Yoder took 33rd place for the Colby women in 14:37.52, Skylar Tupper finished 38th with a 14:45.51, and Annika Martell took 48th in 15:00.64.
Fields, fresh off a victory at the Colby Carnival last Sunday, had a time of 25:59.80 over 10 kilometers. Sam Sinkler (pictured) took 36th in 26:23.46, Andrew Egger finished 44th with a 26:35.24, Foss Kerker took 45th in 26:36.34, Gabe Forest was 47th in 26:37.29, and Mark Young had a 26:36.99 for 48th.
Both Colby teams placed eighth in the team standings.
